A House Guest?

While we were in North Carolina for Dad's service mid December, I received a call from Ann, program coordinator and middle school teacher.  She said my number had been passed on as an interested parent. Tenaysia, as one of the top 3 students in her Korean class, was asked if we would be interested in hosting a student from the Korean island of Ulleungdo.   Since we were in the woods the call was lost.  She followed up with an email with a host family orientation date and time.

I was uncertain as to whether it was something we should do.  After attending the orientation and talking to other families that had previously participated, I signed all necessary paperwork to make it happen.   Not to mention it would be a dream come true for Naysia.

As host families we were encouraged to continue on with our lives as usual.  We were discouraged from making special accomodations--per Ann, "what's the point of them coming here if you do everything they already do at home".  Good point.  Several people have made recommendations as to what we should do while she's here.  So far visiting the Grand Canyon tops the list.

This week the excitement built as we cleaned and planned.

It will surely be an amazing experience for all parties involved.
